Spectrum Soap launches from The Hub

Spectrum Soap launches from The Hub

02 April 2026

At The Hub, part of Autism Plus, trainees are gaining hands on experience and developing practical skills through the production of Spectrum Soap, a creative social enterprise product.

The Soap is made by trainees who are supported to take part in meaningful work based activities that build confidence, routine and independence. From preparing ingredients to shaping, packaging and presenting the finished products, each stage offers opportunities to learn new skills in a supportive environment.

The project provides a real work experience setting where people can develop skills in teamwork, communication, and task completion, while also taking pride in a product that is made with care.

We are pleased that Spectrum Soap is now being sold locally in shops including Yolk Farm Shop in Miniskip, Herriot's in Thirsk and direct from The Hub, helping to share the work of our trainees with the wider community. This gives people real world experience of production for retail, as well as the opportunity to see their work valued by customers.

This initiative reflects our commitment to providing meaningful opportunities that support people to develop skills, build confidence, and progress towards their personal goals.

"I would give them 100 per cent. They are amazing, they have changed my (family member’s) life. My (family member) has achieved so much, because they have put in so much. It was a year since (family member) moved in and they had a really big cake for (family member), to celebrate."
