Colleagues Build Confidence Through AI Learning Programme
28 April 2026Over the past few months, colleagues from across Autism Plus have taken part in a new AI learning programme designed to build confidence, skills and understanding of how artificial intelligence can support our work.
The programme brought together people from a wide range of teams, including care, clinical, payroll, finance, employment services, marketing, IT and HR. In total, 9 colleagues completed the course, contributing around 64 hours of learning together.
The sessions focused on practical, real world applications of AI, helping colleagues explore how it can support everyday tasks such as communication, planning, data handling, and improving efficiency, while also considering safe and responsible use.
One of the key strengths of the programme was the collaborative approach. Bringing different departments together helped create shared understanding and sparked new conversations about how we work across teams. It also supported confidence building, particularly for colleagues who were new to using AI tools.
Feedback from the group highlighted that the course helped make AI feel more accessible, with many describing it as something they now feel more comfortable exploring in their roles. We are now reflecting on what we’ve learned and how this can shape future practice, including where AI may help us work more efficiently and where further training or support could be helpful.
This programme marks an important step in our ongoing commitment to learning, development and innovation, while always keeping people at the centre of what we do.
"We attended a Coronation afternoon with our son, what an amazing afternoon we had! I would like to pass on our thanks to the staff concerned for organising the occasion. The food and drinks were delicious and plentiful. We were made to feel very welcome, the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Once again THANK YOU to everyone involved in making the afternoon a success, even the weather was good!"
