Autism Plus Employment Services celebrated at ERSA Employability Awards for supporting neurodivergent young adults
27 November 2025Autism Plus Employment Services has been recognised at the ERSA Employability Awards, the largest celebration of employment support in the sector. They received the award for Youth Employment, reflecting the positive impact of our SEND Youth Hub programme. This programme supports neurodivergent young adults, helping them build skills, develop confidence and explore opportunities that lead to meaningful employment.
The team were also named a finalist for Tailored Employment Support. This highlights our commitment to providing personalised pathways into work that meet the goals and aspirations of each individual.
The SEND Youth Hub is a specialist programme designed to support young people with any special educational need. The service empowers participants to move towards volunteering, education, work placements or paid employment. Only two specialist SEND Youth Hubs operate in the United Kingdom. The programme is funded by Sheffield City Council and the Department for Work and Pensions.
The SEND Youth Hub brings Jobcentre support into the Autism Plus office. Young people are welcomed into a calm and supportive environment where they can work with a specialist Youth Work Coach and Progression Mentors. Each person receives one to one support that focuses on their barriers, strengths and ambitions. Participants can access up to 26 weeks of tailored support, with an additional 13 weeks available to help sustain employment if they move into work.
Suzanne Eusman, Head of Employment Services, said: “We are delighted to be recognised at the ERSA Employability Awards. The SEND Youth Hub shows what can be achieved when support is inclusive and person centred. It helps young people take meaningful steps into careers, training or volunteering.
This achievement demonstrates our continued commitment to removing barriers to employment and ensuring every young person has the opportunity and guidance they need to succeed. You can find out more about our employment services at www.autismplus-employmentservices.co.uk
