How we collect information about you
We collect information in the following ways:
When you give it to us DIRECTLY: When you communicate with us, request a service from us, sign up to our mailing lists, make a donation, fundraise for us, purchase our products.
When you give it to us INDIRECTLY: Your information may be shared with us by independent fundraising sites. They will only do this when you have chosen to support Autism Plus and provided your consent. Their Privacy Policies will explain how they will process and use your data.
When you give permission to other organisations to share or it is available publicly: We may use external sources to add to the data that you give to us. This is known as data- or tele-appending and enables us to contact you if you change your address or phone number. We also use this information to gain a better understanding of our supporters to improve our fundraising methods, products and services. We may also receive data from online services you use like Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin if you have given them permission to share this with us.
Information that is available publicly
This may include information found in places such as:
- Newspaper articles, publications and company websites
- Companies House and other company information databases
- Charity Commission registers
- Press reports
- Any other publicly available sources
Google Analytics
When someone visits our websites we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the different parts of our site. This information is processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of people visiting our websites. Google stores the information collected by the cookies on servers in the United States. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if they are required to do so by law or if the third party processes information on Google's behalf.

Google Adwords
In addition to using Google Analytics, we also use Google Adwords to help us tailor advertising that we think may be of interest to users and to collect and use other data about user activities on our websites. Google Adwords will display relevant ads tailored to you by placing a cookie on your machine to show you ads based on your past visits to our websites, this does not identify you. As always any data collected will be used in accordance with our own privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

Guest WiFi
When you use Autism Plus guest WiFi we may collect data about:
- your device
- the volume of data which you use
- the websites and applications which you access and
- your usage by access time, frequency and location
Mailing Lists
As part of the registration process for our e-news, we collect personal information. We use that information to tell you about news and updates from Autism Plus and our enterprises, to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy. We never rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party provider, Salesforce Pardot to deliver our newsletters. We collect statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies which help us monitor and improve our newsletters. You can change your mind and unsubscribe to mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing us at info@autismplus.co.uk.
Purchasing Products
When you purchase a product or service from Autism Plus or one of our enterprise businesses, your name, address, email and contact number is stored on our system. We never share your personal details with any other company without your consent. When you use your credit or debit card to purchase something from us we ensure this is done securely and in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Standards, we do not store your financial details. To process payments we use a third party called Shopify, and Stripe Payments Europe Ltd ("Stripe"). Stripe may use, retain and disclose your personal information and credit card details for this purpose and as set out in their privacy policy, including transferring your data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). Where such transfer occurs, we ensure your data is adequately protected under UK data protection law.
