Sarah and Sally

Hello, I'm Sarah, and I've been a part of the Autism Plus team for ten years. As a Programme Facilitator in a close-knit team, I provide support to four individuals with autism and disabilities.

Throughout my time here, I've been dedicated to supporting Sally, who has autism and Rett syndrome—a rare genetic disorder impacting brain development. Sally doesn't communicate through speech or sign language, so from the start, I recognised the importance of getting to know her, understanding her unique needs, and assisting her in achieving greater independence.

What makes my role truly special is the opportunity to create a meaningful impact in someone's life. Helping individuals like Sally live life on their terms is incredibly rewarding, and I consider it a privilege to be part of that journey.
