Supporting Routine, Choice and Community Connections
08 September 2026At Hull Supported Living, we're passionate about ensuring the people we support continue to enjoy meaningful experiences, even when plans change.
One of the people we support moved into their home earlier this year and has been working closely with their support team to build new routines, develop positive relationships, and settle into their new environment.
This week, they were unable to take part in one of their usual activities, swimming. However, with the support of staff, an alternative trip was arranged to ensure they could still get out into the community and enjoy a positive experience.
A visit to The Deep proved to be a fantastic choice. Although they had visited before, it was the first time one of the support staff had been. Taking on the role of tour guide, they proudly showed their staff member around, pointing out their favourite fish along the way and making sure the penguins were included on the route.
Alongside this special outing, they have continued to enjoy their regular activities, including daily gym sessions and visits to the bowling alley, helping them maintain the routine they value.
The team's flexibility, dedication and person-centred approach ensured that a change in plans didn't become a disappointment. Instead, it became an opportunity to create new memories, build confidence and strengthen relationships.
We're incredibly proud of the Hull Supported Living team for the positive difference they make every day, supporting people to live fulfilling, active and meaningful lives.
"I love working here, there are real opportunities to progress and develop. I've come so far since I started."
