A Seaside Adventure in Skegness

One of the individuals we support in Thorne Supported Living recently enjoyed a holiday to Skegness with support from the team.

The trip provided an opportunity to spend time away from home, explore new places and take part in activities that reflected their interests and personal choices. During the holiday, they visited the museum, aquarium and farm, with the dinosaurs and fish proving to be particular highlights.

As well as being a fun break, the holiday supported independence, confidence and community involvement. Having the opportunity to visit new places, make choices about activities and experience different environments helped create positive memories and build new experiences.

Holidays and outings like these play an important role in supporting wellbeing, encouraging social inclusion and helping people to live fulfilling lives. The trip gave the individual the chance to enjoy a change of scenery, engage with the local community and take part in activities that mattered to them.
