Community Cafe and Meals on Wheels Service offering accredited training in Catering and Hospitality
Ings Plus provides training for young adults in a commercial catering kitchen in Hull, East Yorkshire.
The community café provides affordable, healthy lunches. Our Meals on Wheels service delivers healthy and locally sourced hot meals to vulnerable people living within a five mile radius of the centre.
We run a number of weekly lunch clubs across the city, offering a regular place for people to come together, access fresh, healthy meals and socialise. This has a significant impact in the lives of many vulnerable and isolated people in the community.
Training in a busy, commercial kitchen
Placements and work experience offer hands on training in a busy, commercial kitchen, delivering meals and supporting our weekly lunch clubs. We support people to work to qualifications in catering, develop independence and experience teamwork.
Our internal employment support team offer support in work placements and volunteering, employability skills, support to access college, attend job interviews support in the workplace, confidence and motivational support.
Our key objective is to help people to develop employability skills and support them to progress into paid employment. Each person has a personalised pathway that includes working towards their chosen qualifications.

Community Centre and Cafe
The cafe serves a range of delicious, locally sourced food and drink.
The centre hosts a range community events and activities, bringing a positive social impact to the local area.

• Sensory room
• On site nursery
• Weekly community groups such as slimming world, men in sheds, family history group, craft groups
• Horticulture activities
Sensory Room
Available for hire, our sensory room is a calming or stimulating environment with a large selection of sensory items from specialist lighting, music, cushions, fabrics to vibrating and squeezie items.
The sensory room provides an area for individuals to explore senses in a safe, calming environment.

Meet our manager
Graham White is our Commercial Manager for Ings Plus.
He has a particular interest in generous leadership, social enterprise and providing development opportunities. Graham has played a key role in developing Ings Plus, and has helped many individuals along the way.
In Grahams spare time he likes to keep fit, watch rugby and spend time with his family!
